LA County Fair

I took the day off work and we decided to spend the day at the LA County Fair in Pomona. It was such a fun day but we sure were exhausted!

Highlights for the girls:

-horse jumping exhibition

-barnyard animals

-clydesdales

-man walking around in the Elmo t-shirt (can we ever escape it?)

-pink lemonade (actually I think they were more intrigued by the straw)

-frozen yogurt

The weather was a bit on the warm side but with the extreme heat we've had recently, we weren't about to complain. The best part was that it wasn't crowded at all. Sunday is the last day so I think that was part of it plus it was a Thursday. We were able to let the girls out of their stroller to roam around and explore. They loved running around and checking things out without being confined to their stroller. It really wore them out, that's for sure.

We still get quite a few twin comments and at one point today Kevin even commented that perhaps we should throw the girls in one of the pens and let people check us out. We get mostly "Are they twins?" and "Wow, two" but after even a few innocent remarks it gets old and we ignore it. We'd rather focus on the girls and let them play without people checking them out like an exhibit.

All in all, it was a great day. The girls got to experience something new, we got to get out and spend a family day together and it was kind of our last hurrah to the summer. We did go out later without the girls for a delicious and way-too-filling dinner. It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary.
