Where has the time gone?

Wondering about us? We're fine and dandy. Just busy. Daddy's been finishing up a very demanding online class (yay that's done!) and working. Meanwhile, I had a draining week at work last week. Let's just say I'm not a fan of goodbye's/new beginnings especially at work where you expect it to be "just another day at the office". On top of all that we've got 2 monkey's to deal with. I've mentioned the standing and climbing on toys before but the girls have moved onto furniture. We've tossed around the idea of putting the coffee table outside and sacrificing even more of our furniture to our monkeys. We also started Parent and Me Swim Class tonight. The girls loved it! It's half an hour 4 nights a week for 2 weeks. We practiced kicking, floating, blowing bubbles and getting in from the side of the pool. They have cute little songs and floating toys to entertain and teach them to swim. We had a blast and can't wait to go back for mor...

Wild and Free

The "End".

16 month check-up

We finally had our belated 15 month Dr. visit. The girls were very good little patients and are doing well. They got 2 more vaccinations which they of course cried through. They are still virtually the same size and height. Olivia is 20 lbs and 31 inches. Lucy is 19 lbs and 31 inches. This was the first visit they got to get on the big-girl scale. They looked so silly standing on the giant thing. I can hardly believe they are already too big for the baby scale! The girls were pretty tired when we left and came home and had fantastic 2 hour naps. I cannot believe how big they have gotten!

Monkey One, Monkey Two, Monkey See, Monkey Do

We're standing on, sitting on, climbing on, falling off of EVERYTHING these days. Exhibit A- both girls getting themselves onto their toy box to sit. There's no picture from yesterday when Lucy was standing on it. Notice their dresser drawers are currently tied shut with robe ties because we could not get them to stop pulling everything out of it (quite clever Daddy). Exhibit B: standing in the shopping cart. How in the world they figured this one out we do not know. I must say, that little Target shopping cart is pretty darn sturdy! Exhibit C: One of Lucy's own tricks- standing on the wagon. She will also stand in it turned right-side-up. Olivia hasn't quite figured out how not to let it roll away when she's trying to get in or on it...yet. Exhibit D: No explanation for this. Just plain cute. No pictures of: - Lucy climbing the bookcase (thank goodness that's mounted to the wall) - Lucy climbing up the crib - Olivia trying to climb in the bathtub - Us losing o...

The Beach

After taking in the excitement of the World Cup Sunday morning, we decided to hop in the car and spend the afternoon/evening at Newport with some extended family. It was a last minute decision so we weren't totally prepared but everyone was so welcoming and provided towels, food and plenty of fun. As for the sand, neither of the girls were big fans. Lucy warmed up to it quicker than Olivia who wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. Lucy loved watching her second cousins digging and playing so she settled down on the towel quicker than Olivia. No matter how many times we wiped off Olivia's hands and feet she could not get rid of the sand feeling. She was mad and fussy pretty much the whole time we were out on the beach. . Daddy and Lucy Olivia checking out her "contaminated" hand We decided to head down to the water when the other kids were heading in. It didn't take much convincing to get Lucy to walk down to the water in the sand. She and Daddy headed down the...

Our Long Weekend

Sponges

Lately the girls have really become sponges to all the things we do and say daily. They are saying all kinds of new words- outside, turtle, car, hi sister- and have even made some surprising associations lately. Everytime they see an elephant in a book, on tv or hear the word the girls immediately make the elephant sound (like giving raspberries). The other day they both started doing the noise and I couldn't for the life of me find the elephant they saw until later in the day when I realized they spotted one in the background of one of their books. It's amazing to see them put new things together everyday. When I took a tray out of the oven earlier, I explained to the girls that the oven door was hot and Olivia started blowing on it. It cracked me up since apparently I do this to the girls' food more than I know and they've caught on. I did appreciate the help cooling down the oven. Lucy's trick today was walking over to the desk chair and slapping the seat and pro...

Happy 4th of July!!

We want to wish everyone a very happy 4 th ! Try to spend some time relaxing. Enjoy some good food, but don't stuff yourself silly. Don't over do it on the drinking either. And most importantly, remember to tell your family and friends how much you love them. Happy Independence Day!!

Silly Shots

We call her Lucy the librarian (with helmet of course). Olivia with her first-ever piggy tails. Toy box=not for toys Fancy chairs and fancy shoes. Shiny loafers. We're not nosey, just concerned about our neighbors' well being.
