Zoo Trip

We decided to get San Diego Zoo/Safari Park passes for the girls' birthday. We went for the first time on Saturday. I hadn't been since college and the girls had never been to this zoo. It was a fun little day trip just to get us out of the house and down to San Diego. We started the day visiting the flamingo's who were much more active than I expected. The girls loved watching them stand on one leg, dig around in the sand, and squawk and then gather together and race walk back and forth across the enclosure. They laughed and laughed at those silly pink birds. We meant to go to the gorillas next but somehow walked all around the monkeys and missed the gorillas. Instead we checked out the elephants, had some lunch and then went on the skytram for some amazing views of the zoo, Balboa Park and San Diego. The girls loved being up in the air and giggled the whole time. We let the girls burn off some energy at the little playground they have there where...

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was a bigger deal than usual around here. First, it was Andrew's first Valentine's Day so we had to put on the obligatory "Baby's First Valentine's" shirt and Heart Throb bib. He rocked it, clearly.    Then, it was the big holiday at preschool. The girls were so excited about the snack party and Valentine's treats they were going to find at school. They wore their cute little Valentine's shirts and pink/red hair bows. I decided to go away from candy for the girls' valentine's handouts and when I found a good deal on little 8 packs of Crayola crayons at Target, I ran with that. I picked up enough for the class and put stickers on them that said, "You make our day colorful." They were a big hit and so different from the pencils, candy hearts or lollipops the rest of the kids did. By the time I got to school to pick them up most of the kids were either on a sugar high or sick to their stomach (literally for one...

Back to Work

Well, my maternity leave ended at the beginning of the month and it was time to get back to work. We're so lucky to have my parents help out with the girls and now Andrew. Getting everyone up and out of the house wasn't bad and the transition over to my parents was pretty easy. The kids all did well with the new schedule and routine right from the beginning. The girls were used to going to Grandma & Grandpa's before Andrew arrived so it was back to normal for them. Andrew is so easy-going that I'm not even sure he noticed actually. He loves "talking" and smiling at everyone over there especially my Grandma. As soon as he sees her walk into the room his eyes light up and he has the biggest smile, it's adorable.  I did alright myself too. The first day wasn't great, mostly due to work stuff, so I was anxious to get home to everyone. Since then though, things have gotten easier and better each day. I transitioned to a new department and job (marketi...

3 Months

This guy's 3 months old! He weighs 14lbs exactly, which is double his birth weight. He wears 3-6 months clothes, but is closer to the 6 month end of them, and sleeps 6-8 hours straight at night. Andrew's such an easy-going little guy who really only gets fussy when he's tired. He is a complete thumb-sucker and has now found and figured out how to get his thumb from either hand into his mouth. He has also rolled over from his belly to his back a few times now (one of which we managed to record). Anytime the tv is on he's pretty much guaranteed to be trying to watch it. He has a tickly neck, belly and thighs. He a pretty sweet little guy!
