Chocolate or Poop?

Name that movie. This is a totally random story but it makes us laugh so I thought I'd share. I have a mole on my arm that is only really visible in tank tops. The girls used to notice it when they were babies and I was still nursing them but since that's been all done for awhile now they haven't had any reason to notice it lately. It was warm here a week or so ago and I had a tank top on and Olivia noticed the mole. She pointed to it and asked "chocolate"? I told her no that's not chocolate. Then Lucy had to see what we were talking about and promptly said "that's poop!" Kevin and I immediately cracked up and I explained that in fact it was not chocolate or poop but a mole. Lucy drags out the word mole into mooooooooooooole with a cute little fish face while she really emphasizes the word. She follows that by shaking her head and wagging her finger and saying "not poop". She is quite proud to find it and announce what it is and isn...

Easter Fun

Happy Easter!! We wanted to make this Easter as special as possible for the girls since they are understanding and enjoying so much more this year. First thing we did was color eggs with them. We aren't big hard boiled egg eaters around here so we only did a few. The girls had a lot of fun and it was great practice since they're been learning colors. Saturday was the Easter Egg Hunt at our Church. This was always my favorite Youth Group event in high school so I'm so happy it's still around so we can take the girls to it. There was so much for the girls to do and they definitely got into it. They played some of the games, did some crafts and got to meet the Easter Bunny. I wasn't sure what they would think of the bunny but they were so into it. Olivia did her excited crazy laugh and stomped her feet and Lucy just got the biggest grin and couldn't wait for him to get close. They each high-fived him and were eager to take a picture with him. Their reaction ...

Ballerinas

I'm willing to bet that most people don't know what the Classical Arts Showcase channel is. Well, you're really missing out. This happens to be one of the girls' favorites. They ask for "dance on TV" which means they want us to change to whatever random 900 channel shows Classical Arts Showcase. Basically the channel features performances in the form of operas, orchestras, musicals, solos and ballets. The girls intensely watch and cheer, clap and yell "good job, buddy" at the end of each performance. When they have gotten a hold of the remote they have even managed to find this channel on their own, much to our amazement. Their absolute favorite now is ballet. As soon as a ballet comes on they cheer and beg for their tutu's. They they proceed to dance around the living room and spin with their arms above their heads. The other night they noticed the ballerina was doing legs lifts against her partner and all of a sudden they were using the coffee...

Weekend Fun

Experimenting

We have little scientists on our hands. They love to try new things and are constantly doing little "experiments" to see what happens. We love to watch their little minds hard at work. Some recent things we've seen them try Plugging their ears while watching tv or around other noises Taking their hands off the handles while riding their tricycles Closing their eyes while swinging, sliding or walking around Leaning back while swinging Going down the slide on their belly's Swinging on their belly's Steering side to side while riding their tricycles

Stories of the Week

I've been meaning to keep a running list of some classic moments each week to post but as usual, it's the end of the week and I'm scratching my head trying to remember everything that amused us this week. 2 thing I do remember from my mom's house: My mom and grandma were at the table saying prayers together while the girls were running around playing. All of a sudden it was unusually quiet so my mom got up to check on them. She found the girls one sitting on grandma's walker seat and one pushing it around. They were giving each other rides on Great Grandma's walker! I guess it looked like she was having so much fun with it that they figured they should try it out too. We got an early glimpse of what summer has to offer with some warm SoCal days earlier this week. My mom and the girls took advantage and decided to get out their kiddie pool for some swimming. My mom filled the pool while the girls ran around playing in the back yard. While she was putting awa...

Twin Rules

Here are a few self-imposed rules the girls seem to live by: 1) It's ok to hit/push/climb over/spill on (insert any one or all), as long as it's funny 2) If Mom/Dad don't say yes, ask Sister 3) If you say Please you can take anything away from Sister 4) If Mom/Dad said no touching, tell Sister to do it instead 5) If Mom/Dad said no touching to Sister, I must then go try it too

Good question!

The girls are asking more questions now. We haven't quite entered the "why" stage yet, but I have a feeling it will be here soon. I think the first time we heard them start asking questions was on the way home from the zoo on their birthday. Out of the blue the girls started asking each other, "What are Buzz and Woody doing?" and answering "I don't know", only to then repeat the question back to the other one. It went on and on for a few minutes until they went off on some rambling and must have come to some conclusion about what Buzz & Woody were actually doing. Kevin and I were quite amused that they even wondered about them while away from the house. Now they are more inquisitive about our "doings" as well. Lucy regularly asks me "What doing, Mama?" when I'm getting dressed, cleaning, making dinner etc. Now that Kevin's back in school M-Th evenings the girls like to ask what Dada's doing when they can't ...
