Cousin Zachary

We got to babysit cousin Zack for a couple hours on Saturday and boy did we have fun! He is such a sweetie and gave us the biggest smiles and was cooing away at the girls. Andrew is too much of a bully right now for us to let him close. Zack looked a bit startled when Andrew was nearby since he would grab at his feet or slap his belly every chance he got. At least Zack will learn to stick up for himself rather quickly!

What is...?

It's never too early to start loving Jeopardy.

Summer

Do you think these kids are enjoying their summer break so far??

School's Out For Summer!

First day of Kindergarten Last day of Kindergarten There was a special ceremony on the last day of school to recognize the Dual Language Immersion kids. They sang some songs, received certificates and special medals. The program will give each child a pin after 3rd grade, a pin after 6th grade and then a cord at 8th grade for those who continue on in the program. The girls were so excited to get their own medals. It was a big day! Sra Ortiz y Sra Ortega Their sweet little friend Ally First grade here we come!!

Lucy & Andrew

Lucy and Andrew have a funny relationship. They generally antagonize one another more than anything. When I caught these 2 sitting together to watch TV the other morning it was a total Kodak moment. And he smacked her on the head right after he got up. Classic Andrew "Thank you".

In Studio Performance Weekend

We survived our first ballet In Studio Concert weekend. It was already a crazy week/weekend for me at work with 3 days of important events, plus it was Katie & Lizzy's birthday weekend. Somehow we managed to squeeze it all in and actually get to enjoy it! The girls 1A class danced to the Pizzicato Polka as Pizzicato Angels. They were adorable, of course. They had cute little pink tutus with flowers and little berry branch head pieces. There were 8 girls in the class from ages 6-9. The girls loved performing but just as much, if not more, they enjoyed the socializing/games/movies they watched backstage while they waited for their turn over the course of the weekend (there was a 3 hour dress rehearsal Friday, 9 hours of studio time with 3 performances on Saturday and 6 hours of studio time with 2 performances on Sunday). The dance itself was cute and the girls loved the part where they get to twirl around together while everyone else does something else. All those hours of prac...

End of Year Awards

I can't even describe how incredibly proud and in awe of these girls I am. They amaze us every day. At the final awards assembly of the year they each received an award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Not only did they do well in school, they excelled in a class that is entirely in Spanish everyday. We are so lucky to have these smart little girls!

Color Run

The girls' school held a Color Run a few weeks ago as a fundraiser. The girls were super excited about it from the moment they found out about it so of course we signed up. The girls loved seeing their friends and running to each color station to get doused in the colored powder. I knew it was going to be messy but I wasn't quite prepared for as messy as it ended up being. Kevin and I ran with the girls and they loved seeing us covered in colors too. Andrew stayed on the sidelines cheering us on with my Dad. He was quite content to watch and eat snacks. After the run ended we picked up the certificates and ribbons, played with the hula hoops, bubbles and balls they had out and headed home. This was the school's first color run (I think) so there are still a few kinks for them to work out but all-in-all it was a lot of fun and we would definitely do it again. Maybe next time we wear hats though since there may or may not still be some color in the girls' hair. ...
