Andrew's Spanish

Every night while the girls do their homework Andrew insists on doing his homework too. So he gets out a piece of paper and pencil and scribbles, writes and draws on it and then pretends to study like they do. Last week he wanted to do his own reading exercise like the girls where they have to read a passage in Spanish for a minute. Andrew has decided he too can read in Spanish and here are his first two attempts. He is so funny!

Harry Potter Birthday Party

Thanks to everyone who came to help us celebrate 8! We had a fun Harry Potter birthday party with wand-making, quidditch playing and a snitch pinata. It was a great day! Golden snitch pinata Kevin made a quidditch game!

EIGHT!

Happy 8th birthday to my sweet, beautiful, smart girls!   I took the day off work to spend with the girls. They had a short day so I took cupcakes to their class so all the kids could sing and celebrate with them. After we headed to the mall for Red Robin lunch and then on to getting their ears pierced. The girls were beyond excited to get their ears pierced. It was a BIG day for them. Lucy went first and picked out the March birthstone studs and then before I knew it both ears were pierced without so much as a flinch. I couldn't believe it! She loved looking in the mirror and seeing them. Olivia went next and was a little more nervous. She teared up after the first ear was done and then bravely sat and held my hand as they did her other ear. The girls were so happy to see the results and couldn't stop smiling and looking in the mirrors. After that we did a little bit of shopping, picked up Andrew from Grandpa & Grandma's house and came home to open present...

First Reconciliation

March 4th was the girls' First Reconciliation. They were very excited about the day and worked diligently on their lambs. It's so hard for me to believe that they are about to make their First Communion! Love these sweet girls!

2nd Grade Awards

February was the girls' month of awards! They were Students of the Month for excellence in science. Olivia also received her medal for math and Lucy received her medal for reading. Then to top it all off, Lucy was drawn from the attendance drawing and got to go to lunch with the principal. They were so excited! It was already a great day for them because it was Disney day so they were decked out as Cinderella and Snow White. So proud of these hard workers!

Andrew the Brave

Well I can't say I was surprised. I think part of me was shocked it took 3.5 years before Andrew needed stitches. A few weeks ago, Kevin and the girls were at ballet and Andrew and I were home. He was in the bathtub and just finishing up when he decided to stand up and try to plop down and make a big splash. When he did it he looked down at the same time and hit the bottom of his chin right on the edge of the bathtub. He screamed and cried immediately and I tried to get him to calm down while I checked the inside of his mouth certain he had hurt his teeth or tongue. Nothing. No blood but he kept crying. Then all of a sudden he turned his head and I saw the gash in his chin and the blood came gushing out at an alarming rate. I got him all cleaned up and calmed down and into his pajamas before it finally stopped bleeding. After some frantic calling/texting pictures to both Kevin and my ER nurse sister-in-law, Katie, they confirmed he would need stitches to close it up and help re...
