She Works Out

Lucy's really been bulking up. You wouldn't believe how many push-ups this kid can do these days. Here she is "holding" cousing Liam a few weeks ago. See what I mean??? (picture courtesy of Auntie Sarah)

Paint + Celery

By Monday the girls were finally feeling better. I decided to do a fun Pinterest project with them after naps. I cut the ends off some celery stalks and got out the paint supplies and off we went. The idea was to stamp with the celery "flowers" and after I demonstrated I set the girls free to stamp on their own. They got it down right away and had cute little flowers on their papers in yellow and red. I was stamping away my own bouquet when Olivia set down her celery and said, "I want a paintbrush. I'm tired of all this foolishness." Lucy quickly chimed in with "this celery is so irritating." So much for that project. Lucy's always so serious when she's "working" (Olivia already looks unimpressed with this activity) I got out the paintbrushes and they proceeded to paint and hand print all over everything they had already done. It was a lot of fun painting away with them even if they were quickly over my stamp...

Memorial Day Quarantine

Unfortunately we aren't feeling very festive this Memorial Day weekend. Olivia & Lucy both have Hand, Foot, Mouth virus so we're sticking to our house. My Mom noticed Olivia start to not feel well Wednesday morning and she soon had a really high fever, chills and was just overall miserable. She wouldn't eat and kept saying her mouth hurt. I took the girls home for naps and medicine. Unfortunately, that was a rough night for Olivia. Her fever spiked to over 104 at one point and it was consistently high all night. Her fever continued off and on the next day and she started putting her finger in her left ear and saying there was a bug in there. We figured it was an ear infection so I made a Dr. appt for her on Friday. Well, come to find out her ears were clear but she has the highly contagious hand, foot mouth virus, hence the mouth hurting comments. Poor baby, we didn't even notice the spots on her hands/feet or think to check her mouth, since she regularly bites he...

Hippy!

Olivia loves to vocalize her excitement over things. Lately, she's taken to yelling "Hippy!" when she really means "Yippy". We don't correct her because it's hilarious to watch her run around the house yelling "Hippy!" We figure it's her own version of Hip Hip Hooray.

Mother's Day

I'm so blessed.

Disney Day

Friday was our second day at Disneyland on our 2 day passes. It was a nice warm, sunny day with not too many people. We love these little trips with the girls to see their eyes light up and their delight in every little ride, character and activity. We visited the Princess Fantasy Fair again where we met Ariel, Belle and Jasmine and were able to watch and participate in the Royal Coronation Ceremony. Here the girls are learning the dance along with the other kids. At the end of the ceremony they shoot these ribbons into the air and all the kids scramble to get one. The girls were so excited to go meet Daddy back in line to meet the princesses and show him the ribbons they caught. The girls chatted with each of the princesses and proudly said their names, how old they are and answered all the questions each princess had for them. They love meeting the princesses but get so serious once they are up close to them so it's hard to tell from these serious faces th...

Playtime!

We're taking these 2 princesses to Disneyland today. Can't wait!

Lucy Says

Lucy has started calling Olivia by her name instead of referring to her as sister. We noticed it here and there but now it's an all-the-time thing and it's so cute to hear. Now, instead of every one of her sentences ending in "ok, sister?" they end with "ok, Olivia?" Love that kid!

Water Pillow

I found this idea on another blog and then saw it make its rounds on Pinterest. We were so excited to make this easy giant water pillow for the girls. It ended up being large enough for all of us to enjoy on a hot afternoon. It was so much fun and we jumped, rolled, bounced and just laid on this thing for hours. We'll definitely be doing this again!

Playhouse Completion

Kevin and my Dad finished the playhouse this weekend. They put up the roof, attached the door and added on the bench. The girls were so excited to get up from their naps and be able to run in and out of it. They loved serving us out of the lemonade stand window too. We know they'll get lots of use out of this adorable house for years to come!
