Winding Down Summer

Some photos of how we spent our summer.

Beach House Trip

San Diego 4th of July

We spent a few days in San Diego over 4th of July since I had to take my real estate test down there on the 5th anyway. We were looking for an excuse to get to the zoo since Andrew had been asking so it totally worked out. We went down Monday morning and went straight to the Zoo. Funny Andrew story. So when we told him we were going to go to the zoo he was so excited and said, "I can't wait to go to the zoo! I'm going to ride the animals! The animals love me!" We could not stop laughing and then let him know typically you cannot ride the animals at the zoo. He assured us that the animals at the zoo love it when he rides them and he was going to ride a giraffe. We had a great day at the zoo. It was  bit crowded but we still got to see a lot in just a few short hours. The kids loved our hotel mostly for the pool and water slide. It was crowded but we managed to spend a few hours every day hanging out by the pool which was right on t...

Beach Trip

We spent the day at Balboa to get away from the heat and enjoy a day away. The water was so warm and we had so much fun! All the kids love to boogie board now and the girls were in the water almost the entire time we were there. Andrew loved to dip his feet in and play in the sand more than anything. We also walked down to get ice cream for an afternoon treat. We also played smashball and dug our usual giant hole/castle.

Summer School

The girls did not get to participate in VBS this year with Andrew because they were selected to go to summer school for their dual language immersion program. It's just for a month and only half days Monday through Thursday. There are kids from all the DLI schools with a couple of kids the girls know from their school. It's a great program with a STEM focus so they are doing fun activities and projects like racing cars and building bridges along with fluency and math. They were a bit hesitant and nervous about it at first but they love going now.
