2nd Birthday Party

I had this written for quite awhile but the website was being awful with my pictures and kept deleting or rearranging them and it took me 4 hours to get this published. If there's anything wrong with it don't even tell me, I'm already frustrated enough.

Now that we've recovered from the big birthday weekend, here's the party wrap up.

We had all of our friends and family meet us at the park by my parents house for an afternoon outdoors. The girls LOVE the park so we figured this was the best and easiest place to have everyone and let the girls run around with people who don't get to usually take them to the park. It was a blast!

The girls were so excited when they got up from their extra long naps and I told them we were going to meet Daddy at the park. They had seen us pack up their wagon with everything for the party earlier which Kevin set up for all by himself (my hero). Since Kevin left with all the stuff the girls had been asking about their bubbles and the park. Once they knew that was where we were headed they were so excited. When I pulled up to the park they immediately spotted the balloons and Kevin with the wagon. They were a bit overwhelmed by all the people and attention at first and clung to me, but once they saw Daddy go play ball with some of the boys off they ran.

It was so fun to see the girls off doing their own thing. They ran around and played with the football and then came back and checked out their pinwheels, the balloons and their new table. They were so excited about everything. When we got to the presents the girls were hilarious. They were excited about everything they opened and wanted to either put it on or have us open it so they could play with it right away. We kept having to tell them later at home we would open their toys. They did get to wear their crowns and tutu's right away though. Olivia was so excited about her tutu and had the best look on her face when she put it on and turned around to face everyone but I don't think anyone got a picture right at that moment. It was classic. It was the big open mouth grin with just pure excitement in her eyes. You could tell they felt like little princesses in their crowns and tutus. In fact they wore their crowns the rest of the day.

We got them Elmo and Cookie Monster cupcakes since we knew they'd be able to identify them. They knew what they were right away and as soon as Olivia spotted them she sat in the chair right next to them expecting to get one right away. They did like their cupcakes this year at least. They just didn't like having to get their hands messy in order to eat them. We ended up having to feed the girls instead so they could keep the frosting off their hands. Funny little girls. I guess next year we'll do regular cake or ice cream since they seem to really enjoy that and its edible with a spoon.

The girls got so much stuff: the cutest clothes ever, some great books that we've already read over and over again, a bunch of fun Mr. Potato head accessories, pillow pets, a Dr. kit, handmade blankets, fun new blocks, a tent, tricycles and art kits. They are truly spoiled!

It was great to have so all of our wonderful family friends there for us and the girls. It's hard to be the party hosts, especially with little ones, since it feels like you don't really get to talk to anyone very much. We just want everyone to know we had a great time and we hope you did too. Thank you for everything and being there means a lot to us.
