Easter Fun

Happy Easter!!

We wanted to make this Easter as special as possible for the girls since they are understanding and enjoying so much more this year. First thing we did was color eggs with them. We aren't big hard boiled egg eaters around here so we only did a few. The girls had a lot of fun and it was great practice since they're been learning colors.

Saturday was the Easter Egg Hunt at our Church. This was always my favorite Youth Group event in high school so I'm so happy it's still around so we can take the girls to it. There was so much for the girls to do and they definitely got into it. They played some of the games, did some crafts and got to meet the Easter Bunny. I wasn't sure what they would think of the bunny but they were so into it. Olivia did her excited crazy laugh and stomped her feet and Lucy just got the biggest grin and couldn't wait for him to get close. They each high-fived him and were eager to take a picture with him. Their reaction was priceless. They also were into the egg hunt. Kevin had practiced hiding eggs and letting them find them the night before so the girls definitely knew what was going on by the time it started. They ran from egg to egg filling up their little baskets in no time. My mom and I each ended up with a handful of eggs that didn't fit into their baskets by the time it was all said and done. The highlight for the girls was playing on the playground afterwards. Here are some pictures of our exciting morning with Grandma & Grandpa.

Easter morning we started bright and early with a little egg hunt of our own and getting baskets from the Easter Bunny. The girls loved every bit of it. They quickly found all the eggs we had "hidden" and dove right into their baskets of goodies. Inside they found water shoes, hats, stuffed animals, an Elmo DVD, M&Ms, bubbles and Toy Story sippy cups. Of course we had to turn on the DVD right away and they just had to have their milk out of their Buzz & Woody cups. We got ready and successfully made it to 9am Mass on time. That in and of itself is an Easter miracle! The girls were so good in Church. They sat in our laps quietly and looked around or watched what was going on without fussing, talking or acting up. We even got compliments from the lady who sat behind us on how well behaved they were. Such good little girls! We went to Nana's after Church to visit Nana, Sarah & Marshall before heading home for lunch and naps. Then we spent the afternoon/evening at Grandpa & Grandma's along with Mary. It was a great weekend filled with fun Easter activities and treats and we got to spend a lot of time with our families which always makes things special.
