Coming Home

After being bumped off our morning flight home on Friday, we ended up getting a direct flight home later that afternoon and didn't get back to Riverside until 2am (there was baggage to claim, a shuttle to call and catch, parking to take care of, a car to pick up, and a drive thru to conquer). Even though we wanted to rush right over and pick up the girls we knew that was out of the question.

We were finally up and able to function around 10am and headed straight over to get the girls. I don't think I will ever forget their reactions. I wish we had it on video. We rang the doorbell and heard them coming to the door laughing and talking. As soon as we opened the door Olivia yelled "You came back!" and then started doing this crazy deep laugh as she virtually climbed up me to get a giant bear hug. She clung so tight. Lucy was laughing too and just started jumping up and down in place and then running back and forth between the chair in the family room and us. They both gave us big hugs and kisses and started jabbering about all the things they did and wanted to show us. It was the best feeling in the world to see how excited they were to have us home. We're really enjoying being back home with them and we definitely see differences in how they talk, what they know and how big they have gotten. It was nice to get away, but it's wonderful to be back home with the girls.
