Christmas 2011

Christmas with the girls just gets better and better every year! The girls were very into all the preparations, festivities, lights and sounds of the holiday season. Everything does feel more magical with little ones around.

The girls were ridiculously spoiled with toys from all their aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. They got lots of princess stuff (sheets, blankets, scooters, clothes) as well as magnetic dress up dolls, books, clothes, play food, board games, lincoln logs, art kits, a band set, digital camera, learning puzzles/toys, desks and play dough sets among other things. They love everything and we've opened and played with it all. Last night I even watched and listened to them reading one of their brand new books to each other that we have only read to them once! It is amazing what they pick up.

Some fun traditions we started or carried on this year:
  • Happy the Elf
  • Christmas countdown calendars with treats
  • Cookie decorating
  • Mission Inn lights
The girls keep asking where Christmas is and when we do it again. We know this was the last year we could  get away hiding presents in their room, talking about what we got in front of them and sleeping in. They seem to finally be old enough to get it and remember next year what Christmas was like. It was a wonderful holiday season filled with lots of new memories, lots of time with family and friends and just about as relaxing as we can remember. We loved it! Thank you to everyone who made our holidays so special and spoiled our little girls!
