My mom and I took the girls to the LA Times Festival of Books Saturday at USC. It was a beautiful day and so nice to be outside enjoying our sunny weather. We even all got nice little tans out of it!
The Target stage was the perfect area for us to hang out with the girls. They had a nice large area set up where the kids could sit, stand and dance around to the authors, singers and other performances they had. The girls liked following along with the stories on the big screens and would even get into the singing and actions. They did a really good job of keeping things moving along so the kids didn't really seem to get too bored.
We walked around and checked out a few of the booths and bought 2 books and some song/story cd's for the girls. My mom was nice enough to stand in line to get one of the books signed by the author and illustrator while the girls and I grabbed some lunch. We now own an autographed story of A Sick Day For Amos McGee and we've had to read it multiple times since we brought it home. It's such a cute story!
By the time we headed out it was getting quite crowded so we were glad we got there early. There was definitely a lot to see and do that we didn't have time for but overall it was a great experience and we loved going on an adventure for the day.
Oh and the girls loved that the day ended with frozen yogurt!
