Unfortunately we aren't feeling very festive this Memorial Day weekend. Olivia & Lucy both have Hand, Foot, Mouth virus so we're sticking to our house.
My Mom noticed Olivia start to not feel well Wednesday morning and she soon had a really high fever, chills and was just overall miserable. She wouldn't eat and kept saying her mouth hurt. I took the girls home for naps and medicine. Unfortunately, that was a rough night for Olivia. Her fever spiked to over 104 at one point and it was consistently high all night. Her fever continued off and on the next day and she started putting her finger in her left ear and saying there was a bug in there. We figured it was an ear infection so I made a Dr. appt for her on Friday. Well, come to find out her ears were clear but she has the highly contagious hand, foot mouth virus, hence the mouth hurting comments. Poor baby, we didn't even notice the spots on her hands/feet or think to check her mouth, since she regularly bites her cheek while eating. She must have been miserable! The Dr. also checked out Lucy and said she was just starting it. So we're in the midst of round 2 now. We've managed to keep Lucy's fever under control and just give them both meds mostly for pain. They have finally started to eat better so we're hoping we are over the worst of it.
We had planned to go to San Diego for the weekend but we had to forgo that to not spread anything. Instead we're getting in extra cuddles, lots of books, some crazy princess pretend time and a bit of house cleaning. Hope everyone else has a healthy and relaxing long weekend!
