Tonight will be the last night of week 1 of swim lessons. They have been great now that we switch to the earlier, less crowded time. The girls are getting lots of time and attention and having a blast. These teachers are great and get them really excited to do all the activities and practice their kicks and arms. We absolutely love watching them have so much fun.
This is the first real experience they've had listening and following directions from a teacher and it's been interesting to watch. The girls definitely stick together like glue. They are always sitting or standing next to each other and make sure the other is always nearby. It has been interesting to watch them interact with the other kids. We see how attached to each other they really are.
Last night they finally got to jump off the diving board. They were so excited and had been looking forward to this since we started talking about swim lessons. They weren't scared at all and walked right to the edge and jumped right to their teacher. It was definitely the highlight of the night for them. The teacher even came over afterwards to tell them what a good job they were doing and also how impressed she was that they weren't scared of anything. There are a few kids in their class who are scared of the water and especially jumping in, some of whom are even bigger than the girls. It's been so much fun to watch them at this new more independent stage.
