After a busy Christmas morning we headed over to my parents house for the rest of the day. We had more presents to open and a delicious dinner to get to, after all!
The girls headed straight for the piles of presents and started rummaging through the gift tags looking for ones with their names on them. Once we were all settled we headed straight for it. The girls got so many things they had wanted and some things they didn't even know they wanted. They wrapped up Christmas with twin crib and twin stroller set for my mom's house, a dollhouse family, more princess dolls, some building blocks, more art supplies, lots of cute clothes and pj's, books, binoculars, flashlights and more dress up clothes & wands (among other things). We had so much fun watching them try everything right when they opened it. They wanted to try out the binoculars and flashlights right away. They also got watches which they had to take out and put on right away. Throughout the rest of the day they would look down at their watches occasionally and exclaim, "oh no! it's 5 o'clock", as if that actually means something in their world. They are really into the watches and telling time, so I think we'll encourage that and see where it goes.
Of course the girls had to try out the baby cribs and stroller right away while we cleaned up and relaxed. Then they settled in to watch Brave with Grandma while the rest of us played games. It was relaxing, fun and a fun Christmas day for everyone. We are definitely lucky!
