At church this weekend they put on A Day in Bethlehem which my Mom and I took the girls over to enjoy. They did a great job of setting up a little town to represent what Bethlehem might have been like when Joseph and Mary arrived. We checked in at the Census and then collected our "money" at the bank and proceeded around to all the different booths and games to try different things. There was painting, stone masonry, construction, music, pottery, bread making and a few games, a manger scene and animals. Every once in awhile the tax collector would come around to each of the stations and collect the "money" from their jars. Joseph and Mary were also walking around with a miniature pony (the best stand in they could get, I suppose), and asking each booth/inn if there was room for them to stay. It was very cute and everyone seemed to be getting into it. The girls loved trying all the new things and getting to pet the horse, of course. They were especially excited about taking a picture with Joseph and Mary (mostly because they knew this was the last thing we were doing before they could go play on the jungle-gym). It was a fun morning and very well done by everyone.

Oh my goodness! They look so adorably excited in the picture with Mary and Joesph. :)
