Santa Train

This was a big year for Santa. As I've said before, Lucy has been talking about the fact that Olivia cried and was scared of Santa since last Christmas. There was a lot of peer pressure on Olivia this year not to cry or be scared of Santa. Luckily, Olivia had convinced everyone that the only reason she cried last year is because she was still little and there was no way she was crying this year because clearly now she is a big kid. Totally obvious, right?

Well, yesterday was the big day. We met up with Katie/Brett/boys/Lizzy and Brian/Marjorie/Liam for a Santa train ride. Everyone had fun running around the train museum grounds while we waited for our train time and even rode a mini train around, which was a big hit.

When it was time for our train we were greeted by 3 elves (all women and not little people, contrary to popular belief). The train car was all decorated for Christmas and Mrs. Clause was sitting in the back of the train too. As we pulled away from the station suddenly we heard jingle bells coming from the other side of the train and in walked Santa Claus! The girls' faces were pure excitement, so I knew right away we wouldn't have any problems visiting Santa. The elves escorted each child up to see Santa and the girls did great. No crying, big smiles and the pure excitement that only kids have.

We tried to get all the cousins in there to take a Santa photo but it was hard. Lizzy and Liam did great with Santa too and neither of them cried either! It was a very successful year for Santa with the little McPherson cousins.
