Sunday was a big day in our house since it was the highly anticipated 4th birthday! The girls were very excited about everything leading up to the big day and would ask multiple times a day how many days until their birthday all week ahead of time. We looked at calendar's, counted days, and recapped what would happen on each day until Sunday. They even remembered our balloon tradition from last birthday and were demanding their room be covered in balloons when they woke up. So off to bed my two little 3 year olds went and then Kevin, Sarah, Mary and I got to work. Mary and I prepped food for the party while Kevin and Sarah went to town filling balloons and decorating. It took us well into the early morning, but was so worth it. The girls woke up to a streamer covered doorway and balloons covering their floor and ceiling. It was pretty awesome!
When they woke up and played with the balloons a bit it was time for them to come open their presents. I didn't even bother wrapping the Rapunzel wedding dress, and Rapunzel non-wedding dress they had been asking for weeks about getting for their birthday. I wanted them to see the dresses right away and boy did they. Lucy ran straight over to hers and gave it a bug and Olivia was equally enthralled with hers. Of course, they wanted to try them on right away!
They also got clothes, a soccer/hockey goal set, a giant inflatable ball, train stuff and a princess board game. After taking in all that excitement I made some chocolate chip pancakes and we got ready for the party.
I went with princess-themed food like Jasmine's hummus, Belle's ice tea/lemonade, Tiana's croissant sandwiches, Aurora's pb & j crowns, Ariel's goldfish and Snow White's dipped apples. Kevin and Sarah moved most of the balloons from inside the house to the backyard staked with golf tees and hung our birthday sign and streamers. Then everyone arrived! We had a great time having everyone over and seeing so many people who dressed up to the get in the Disney/princess theme. The girls wore their new Rapunzel dresses while I dressed like Belle, Mary was Alice in Wonderland, Nana was Snow White, Grandma was Tiana, Great Grandma was the Fairy Godmother (it was awesome!), Aunt Becka was the witch from Wizard of Oz, Natalia was Snow White and the neighbor girls Julia & Annabelle were Rapunzel and Merida. With the beautiful weather (thank goodness!) we were able to spend the afternoon outside on the patio and let the kids run around outside.

The presents were unbelievable and I'm fairly certain that we now own just about everything that's been made in the Disney princess theme. The girls are soooooo spoiled. They love everything we've gotten to so far and amazingly do a pretty good job of remembering who gave them what. They ask to open a different toy each night and take something else to my mom's in the morning so they're pretty good about giving all their new toys equal play time. There was everything from games, books, Barbie-type dolls, dresses, clothes, swim, shoes, to outdoor stuff, movies, coloring, crafts and even a tent.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to spend time with us and the girls. We love you all so much and we're so blessed to have you all in our lives. We love that you went the extra mile to dress up for our little party and the girls can't stop talking about it. Big thank you to Julie/Sarah for taking the girls for a few hours on Saturday so we could sneak in some last minute cleaning/shopping/wrapping and to Mary and Sarah for all their help getting things ready Saturday night- even with the time change. You're all troopers!
