Weekend of Birthdays

This weekend we partied. Friday was the first big birthday. Great Grandma Rita turned 94 years old! We spent the evening at my parents house with them, Great Grandma and Aunt Becka. The girls worked very hard on some self portraits to give Grandma for her birthday present. They also dug up some birthday books they know how to read to bring along to the party. At present time they started off by reading their books to her and then sharing their self portraits. Of course there was also cake and ice cream to get them really good and wired before we came home. Happy Birthday Great Grandma! We love you!!

Yesterday was a friend's daughter's 6th birthday. Of course it just happened to fall on the hottest day of the year so far out here. Someone said it was well over 100 degrees and we were all outside for it. They had an inflatable jumper/water slide for the kids and that kept them entertained for nearly 4 hours straight. We were able to pull them away for some food and a piƱata but otherwise they were back at it. Thankfully there was plenty of shade, a good breeze to provide some relief and misters to keep us all cool. It was nice to catch up with Juan & Michele and their families and see the girls having such a good time with Madelyn, Abby and Olivia, and all the other kids. Thankfully none of us got burned either!

Thank goodness for Sundays to relax.
