What a whirlwind! Christmas is always so chaotic, in the best of ways. We fit so much into just a few days and at the end our heads are spinning as we try to make sense of what just happened and who gave the kids each present. This year the kids (caught myself typing "girls" by the way and had to change it to kids thanks to Andrew) were just as blessed with toys, clothes, books and presents galore from their grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins. How is it that every year we say we are going to cut back and we still end up with so much stuff?
The girls loved everything they got and I think we've managed to unpackage, play with and/or wear every single gift already. Some of the things I can remember: remote control trucks, remote control dogs, movies, Frozen figurines, horses, Jake & the Neverland Pirate play sets, Disney princess dresses, books, a train table/set, art supplies, clothes, stuffed animals, pajamas, princess piggy banks, games, and Dr stuff. The girls loved every single minute of Christmas and it was so fun to watch them really get into the season and anticipation of the actual day.
Andrew was lucky enough to get lots of clothes, toys, a handmade blanket, a rocking horse and a playset for when he's bigger. Olivia & Lucy were very thoughtful about Christmas and not wanting to leave Andrew out so we made a special trip out the week before Christmas so they could each buy their brother a toy. Olivia bought him a toy remote control and Lucy bought him a set of large rubber cars. They can't wait until he's big enough to play with everything. For now, they regularly quality control his toys for him and make sure they still work :)
Kevin got us tickets to see Book of Mormon at the Pantages next month so that was our big present. We each got each other a few little things but mostly focused on the kids, which is what makes it the most fun. We love being able to have our time at home with the kids opening presents Christmas morning but still spending this special day with our families on Christmas Eve (McPherson's) and Christmas evening (my parents). We get a lot in a short amount of time, but it's worth it.
