A few days after all the holidays and celebrations, I had to go on a work trip to Austin, Texas. Kevin played Mr. Mom and survived 4 days with the kids getting them up and going in the morning, out the door on time, all the drops off, picks ups, dinners, lunch packing etc. And they were all battling colds. He deserves an award, seriously,
Even more impressive, he got them all packed and on the road to Arizona on Friday. I flew in that night from Austin where we all met up and stayed for the weekend. We made the trip for the Notre Dame vs. Arizona State game that Saturday afternoon. My aunt and cousin were nice enough to watch the kids so we could tailgate and go to the game for the day. It was a lot of fun, even though Notre Dame didn't win. We had fun tailgating with Nana, Sarah & Tim, Mary, Brian, Marjorie & Liam and some of Tim's family. The kids had a great time with Jennifer and Faith and couldn't stop talking about Faith's swingset in her backyard. They sure had a great time!
It was a nice end to my week away from everyone and a fun birthday. It definitely would have been nice if Notre Dame won to top it all off, but oh well.
Thank you to all the people who helped out during that week! Mom & Dad- for helping with the kids, Mary- for putting up with Taylor Swift on the car ride to Arizona, Kaylor's- for watching the kids and spoiling them rotten and Kevin- for making being away do-able.
