Andrew

Andrew finally went in for his 1 year check-up and is right where he should be. The Dr. was surprised to see him walking so well and loved that he's still a good eater and sleeper (so do we!). He weighs 23 lbs and is 29.5 inches long. He now has 6 teeth- 4 on top, 2 on bottom- and is still fitting just right in 12 mos. clothes.
Entertaining ourselves while we waited for the Dr

He loves patty-cake, itsy-bitsy-spider, is getting more into his books and is quite skilled at all his new birthday toys. He watches us and the girls play with them and then goes over and does it nearly perfectly right off the bat. He is definitely a quick-learner (maybe I should start his resume for him now???). He can't stand socks and pulls them off every chance he gets. Andrew still sucks his thumb when he's tired/trying to fall asleep. He is so curious too. He wants to open everything. It's only gotten us in relatively minor trouble so far. One day he somehow managed to get the game cupboard open, get down the play-doh and then open it all. Another day, he took the Roku remote and nicely placed it in the toilet for me to find later. We quickly learned we have to keep all the doors, closets and cupboards securely closed at all times. He's fast too! I swear this kid has an uncanny sense of when the dishwasher is open. He must hear the click of the soap dispenser when I open it and out of nowhere there he is to open and close it, push the racks in and out and remove clean dishes and place them on the floor. It's quite helpful.

Andrew talks and talks and talks. He is just like his sisters in that regard. Sometimes I just sit and look at all 3 of them as they all try to talk to us simultaneously. He gestures, points, waves his hands and carries on and on as if he's having a great conversation. It is so entertaining to watch him. He jumps right into conversations we're having all the time adding his own two cents. He's a character for sure!
