Spanglish

The girls' Spanish is continuing to come along. They can count mostly to 40 and are starting to put together sentences as part of their journal exercises at school. Sometimes, especially toward the end of the week, they speak and write a bit of Spanglish as their little brains get tired. The homework is getting easier and harder all at the same time but we can definitely see their progress.

We had parent teacher conferences right before Thanksgiving and we were so happy to see and hear about their progress. Sra. Ortiz says that they are nearly identical in their abilities and how far they have come. They have picked up the alphabet, sounds, math and are starting to put short sentences together (although we noticed a lot of times all the right words are there they just in the wrong order). Their behavior and social skills are wonderful and she relies on them to be leaders for the other children. We are so proud of Olivia and Lucy and even though it's not easy and there are definitely frustrating days, they continue to excel. We couldn't be more proud.
