Happy New Year 2015!!
We had a fun little party night here at home just the 5 of us. We played board games, pretended some crazy story with Barbies, had a dance party and pigged out on ice cream sundaes. We explained to the girls that there was going to be a countdown and then it would be the next year- 2015. It was going to be so exciting and we would cheers, hug and kiss and then it would be bedtime. They were pretty excited about it and kept asking if it was almost time. A little before 9 we decided they had had enough and we turned on the Netflix countdown they had recorded so you could play it with your kids whenever you wanted. It was a cute little 3 minute clip with songs and a countdown and the girls were none the wiser. It was kid-friendly, quick and just as anti-climactic as every other New Year's countdown. The girls loved it and thought they got to stay up super later until midnight. They were more than ready for bed by then and went right to sleep. Kevin and I stayed up to watch the real countdown and then headed to bed ourselves. It was a perfect start to the year with our little family.
