Long Weekend

The girls and I had a 4 day weekend for President's Day this past weekend. We lucked out in having beautiful 80 degree weather for the whole weekend. It made our time off together even better after having been cooped up sick for so long.

Friday I took the kids to the park by our house for a picnic lunch, some sunshine and playtime.

Saturday the girls had yoga and then we had a movie evening since everyone was sniffly/coughing again.  Sunday was much of the same. I was determined to get everyone well. They loved Book of Life and Big Hero 6. Andrew loved all the blankets and pillows we put out.

Monday we decided maybe sunshine and fresh air would do us some good so we headed down to the San Diego Zoo for our last trip before our passes expire. We went on the little railroad out front, took a bus tour of the whole zoo and then Natalia & Kyle met up with us. It was one of our best zoo trips since we saw so many of the animals out being playful while we were on the bus tour. The kids were really into it too since they weren't bombarded by the food/gift/face painting distractions they are when we normally walk around the zoo. We saw the tiger, polar bear, giraffes, elephants, cheetah and so much more.

When we were done with the zoo we headed out for some dinner and then met up with Melissa, Ross and baby Shane. He's was such a sweetie cooing, smiling and snuggling with me for a long time. The girls loved finally getting to meet him and Andrew loved petting his hair (we all loved his hair actually!)

Even with my sniffly/coughing family, it was a fun, relaxing weekend together.
