Happy 6th Birthday to the sweetest, smartest, most loving little girls I know! You seem to have grown from toddlers to little girls over night.
Olivia woke up and ran out to me yelling, "Look how big my feet are! And my hands! They grew over night! It must have been that good birthday sleeping I did." It was adorable to see the girls admire themselves and all the growing up they had been doing.
We filled the living room ceiling with helium balloons and put all their presents out on the dining table. Since it was a school day, they only had time to quickly look at them before it was time to get ready for school. They were so excited to see they had birthday donuts waiting for them and then also about the cupcakes we had picked up to take to their class later that afternoon so all the kids could sing to them in English and Spanish. It was very cute and the girls loved every minute of it!
We had ballet that night where they proudly announced to everyone that it was their birthday. They got to wear birthday crowns and do the birthday circle (not sure exactly what that is but they loved it). Then it was home to meet Daddy and head to dinner. They chose Red Robin, mostly for the balloons they hand out, but were so excited when they heard the workers sing happy birthday to another table. Immediately Lucy said, "Can they come sing to us???" Then the rest of the meal they sat in anticipation of when it would be there turn to get sung to. Little did they know, birthday singing also comes with ice cream sundaes- imagine the excitement as they stared at ice cream sundaes while the workers sang to them. Olivia said it was the best day ever right afterwards. Adorable.
Andrew made it through dinner but he was too tired to stay awake for presents. The girls loved their flying fairies, running shoes, clothes, books and doorway puppet theater. They were pretty worn out from such a long and busy day but they made sure they had time to chase some of the balloons around the living room first. It reminded me so much of their 2nd birthday when they played and played in the balloons we put around the living room. Hard to believe that was already 4 years ago.
