We survived our first ballet In Studio Concert weekend. It was already a crazy week/weekend for me at work with 3 days of important events, plus it was Katie & Lizzy's birthday weekend. Somehow we managed to squeeze it all in and actually get to enjoy it!
The girls 1A class danced to the Pizzicato Polka as Pizzicato Angels. They were adorable, of course. They had cute little pink tutus with flowers and little berry branch head pieces. There were 8 girls in the class from ages 6-9. The girls loved performing but just as much, if not more, they enjoyed the socializing/games/movies they watched backstage while they waited for their turn over the course of the weekend (there was a 3 hour dress rehearsal Friday, 9 hours of studio time with 3 performances on Saturday and 6 hours of studio time with 2 performances on Sunday). The dance itself was cute and the girls loved the part where they get to twirl around together while everyone else does something else. All those hours of practicing did actually pay off!
They made some new friends and got closer to the girls in their class. It was also nice to get to know some of the parents better as we ran into each other throughout the weekend dropping off, bringing snacks and picking up. The girls were definitely exhausted when all was said and done but they are interested in more shows. They loved watching the "big girls" get ready, in their point shoes and see more advanced moves. I'm glad they are enjoying ballet so much.
