Andrew has quite a good time when naptime comes around at my parents' house. Twice this week she had these reports:
Monday: "After an hour or more of 'No, I don't need to sleep!' he will not sleep. Somehow he moved the bed way over to the CD player." Followed by "He just demonstrated to us how he jumps and wiggles back and forth and sure enough he moves [the pack n play across the room]!"
Thursday: After an hour and a half of talking, singing, jumping, laying down, wiggling, standing up, tossing around and a diaper change, he finally went to sleep.
He also loves noticing things while he plays outside and when we drive around. He always notices when there is a clock (he knows exactly at what point he can see the CBU clock tower on Adams and proudly shouts "Tic Tock!" every time), loves when he see trains, and now wants to know everyone's name ("What's that name?" as he points at a complete stranger). He was outside playing with my mom this week and he was sitting in one of the chairs "listening to the birds and trying to catch them". Then he saw a butterfly so they watched it and he commented, "she has on a dress, she's a queen!".
When I went to get him out of bed this morning he was chatting away. I asked him who he was talking to and he said, "I talking to the caterpillar. He has to peel the orange to eat it. He has to peel it. The apple goes chomp and crispy. Chomp, chomp, chomp. That's what I tell the caterpillar." Pretty sure that all came from The Very Hungry Caterpillar book. He's so funny!!
His other favorite thing to do now is yell at the traffic lights. Kevin and the girls started trying to predict when the red is going to turn to green and Andrew thinks he can yell at all the red lights now. Randomly, he'll clap and yell "Green!" and then "Come on, light!" in a very exasperated tone over and over again until it changes to green.
He sure is entertaining!
