Last weekend we went on our first camping trip to Lake Skinner in Temecula. Of course we picked the hottest weekend of the year so far but it ended up being so fun and just a little warm, not unbearable like I feared.
The campsite was pretty big with lots of trails and we could see the lake from our site. There were also 2 playgrounds and a huge splash pad area for the kids. We rode our bikes around and Andrew loved his new-to-him seat and going on bike rides with us too. The lake was so pretty and looked amazingly refreshing but unfortunately you can't swim in it. We did watch some people fish and would love to try fishing next time.
The kids loved the playgrounds and splash pad. We spent pretty much all day Saturday either at the playground or the splash pad with morning and evening bike rides around the campsite. The kids did great and the girls loved every minute of camping. Andrew was able to sleep just fine (we brought the pack n play for inside the tent) and he asked for an early nap and to go to bed a little early each night. Guess we wore him out!
