| The Tooth Fairy snuck this photo on to my phone of all their teeth along with their gold coins |
The Tooth Fairy left $11 in gold coins Wednesday night after the girls had their extractions. They were amazing about the whole thing. I am so proud of how brave and calm they were before, during and after the procedure. Lucy still had 6 teeth pulled and Olivia only had to have 5 pulled afterall.
When we got there the dentist and hygienists asked me if we wanted to just do half of their extractions this appointment and then come back another day for the other half. We were caught off guard by the question since we always assumed they would just do them all at once. After a little bit of back and forth we decided to just get started and if they were handling the whole thing well to go ahead and do all the extractions. The whole office was floored that they handled it so well!
I went in with Lucy and Kevin went with Olivia. They were right next door to each other so I could hear and pop over to check on Olivia too, which was nice. The numbing/gas took the longest and the actual extractions were over in minutes. From the moment they sat down in the chair and chose their movie (Frozen for both of them), they sat still following all directions to open/close/bite without flinching. The hygienists were so sweet with the girls and praised how well behaved and easy they were.
I'm so glad to have that over with now! Poor Lucy still doesn't have both her front teeth in yet so she's rocking a smile with 1/2 a top tooth and molars you can see waaaaay in the back of her mouth. Olivia at least has her top 2 teeth in. Their adult teeth should move in pretty quickly now that we made all that space for them. We'll see. They didn't seem phased by any of it this morning so we'll see how they manage eating the next couple of days.
