The Polar Express

We planned a Thanksgiving surprise for the kids way back in August and it was so worth it! On the Friday after Thanksgiving we headed up to Flagstaff to stay for a couple of nights and take the kids on the Polar Express Train in Williams, AZ. It was so much fun!!

The Williams train hotel/depot is super cute to begin with but they decorate and make it very festive at Christmas. It was definitely crowded and I'm glad we weren't staying at the Williams hotel. We got there with enough time to eat before we got on the train. The train ride is filled with singing and dancing, cookies and hot chocolate, Christmas caroling and of course, a Santa visit. They also read The Polar Express book. The kids LOVED it! Santa came to our car first and everyone screamed and cheered and then he came around to each family to greet the kids and pass out bells. It was such a fun little trip and I'm so glad we were able to start the holiday season off with such a magical trip.

Back in Flagstaff we walked around their cute little downtown, ate at a yummy restaurant and coffee shop and even got to enjoy some fresh snow on Sunday morning! The kids loved having snowball fights and playing in the snow even though it was super cold. We had a blast and were so lucky to have the trip with Tim, Sarah and Zack.
