Andrew had his first day of Montessori preschool this week! He was very excited about his school since the first time we visited for a tour months ago. He kept talking about it and pointing it out to us every time we drove by. Wednesday was finally the first day!
I walked right into the classroom with him where he introduced himself to the teachers and checked out the room and other kids. Then he gave me a hug and kiss and went off with the teacher for a tour. No tears, no hesitation, nothing. When I went back a few hours later to pick him up he was patiently waiting in line with the other kids so they could return to their classroom from lunch. He ran right up to give me a hug and then waved goodbye to his friends and teachers. The whole thing was like no big deal to him. His teachers said he had a great first day and he adjusted really well. He doesn't say much about it other than they did shapes and art but he had fun and really enjoys that there is another Andrew in his class.
For this year he will go Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays just for half days. I think that's enough for now since he will have to do another full year of preschool before he can start Kinder. I'm so glad it went well for him and can't wait to see how the rest of the year goes!
