Legoland!

Our last birthday surprise for the girls was a trip to Legoland. We did not tell them until we were actually inside the park. Seems kinda hard, right? Turns out Olivia played right into our plan. We told the kids we were going to be running errands all day and they got ready to go fairly early. They were reading and talking in the car and didn't even notice we were driving for quite awhile. The only comment they did make was to ask if we were going to IKEA. We told them we had a lot to do but if we could we would try to stop by IKEA. The thought of going to the IKEA play place had them quite excited! As we got just about to our exit Olivia said she had to go to the bathroom. We told her we would get off at the next exit and find something. Thankfully there was nothing to be found between the exit and the Legoland entrance. We played it up and told them we would have to pay for parking just to get her in to use the bathroom. We totally spoiled any potential excitement but convincing them we would go use the bathroom and then go get a refund for our parking. We got them all the way nearly into the park before we broke down and told them. The pure joy on their faces was priceless!

It was such a fun day! None of us had ever been to Legoland before so we weren't sure what to expect and it was awesome! Andrew was the perfect height to go on just about everything that he wanted to. I'm glad we did not take him any earlier or he would have been very disappointed. The rides are so interactive and different and it was not at all crowded that day. I had my reservations about Legoland in general because I've heard mixed reviews but it was perfect. I'd actually love to go back one more time before the girls kind of age out of it.
