Countdown

We're counting down to the end of the school year! I can hardly believe Kindergarten is already almost over. So sad. They have had so much fun and learned so much. The girls are natural little leaders and seeing their confidence is amazing. Their ability to now speak and write in Spanish blows me away. They write in journals everyday in school and have some writing activity as part of their homework. At the beginning of the year the writing activities were a bit frustrating for all of us. Now they fly through them without even asking for help and are so proud to read us their 4-5 sentence stories all by themselves. It is amazing! They love their classmates. They are always telling us about Caroline, Alice, Ally and Travis (even though the stories involving Travis are usually that he's teasing them). The girls seem to get along with everyone and love playing with their friends. Seeing them grow and become so independent this past year makes us so proud of these two. They are a...

18 Months

Super friendly with everyone Knows some animal sounds - horse, cow, duck, dog Some new words: breakfast, jacket, socks, pancake, flower Counts to 4 and then skips to 6, 8 and 9 Likes to name the letters from the play mat or in the bath (A and S seem to be his favorite) Wears 18 months clothes Has a new love of his stuffed animals (mostly to carry around and then sit on) Likes Elmo and Sesame Street Has some fun new dance moves (foot stomping, hip shaking and hand motions) Getting more into books. Requests one every night at bedtime. LOVES the vacuum- has to get it out and look at it/talk to it/touch it at our house and Grandma's house. On the weekends we just leave our vacuum out in the corner so we don't have to get it in and out of the closet constantly. Can open all the screen doors (thank goodness they have locks that he hasn't figured out yet)

Baseball Outing

We braved a rainy day this past weekend and met up with Natalia, Kyle, Melissa, Ross and baby Shane for the Lake Elsinore Storm minor league baseball game. It was completely dry and ended up being lots of fun for cheap, great seats. The girls enjoyed the food and kids play area while Andrew was more interested in baby Shane and the cup holders in the seats. We would definitely do it again! (the girls' face paint is from a museum event earlier in the day)

Easter

The girls woke up early, put on their new Easter dresses, went and found all the Easter baskets, went through them and then decided to come wake us up. And then this guy got up and was so stoked about the eggs in his Easter basket! They look so grown up! :(     The only way I could get him to stand still for a picture was to sit him up on the porch wall.     This is the best picture we could get of the 5 of us Andrew had his own egg hunt in the front yard. He loved finding each egg, trying to pry them open to look inside and then putting them in his basket for later. The girls had an egg hunt in the backyard and Grandma made it extra exciting by creating a little scavenger hunt for certain eggs. They loved it!

A Much Needed Spring Break

Finally, a break from making lunches, laying out clothes, waking up early and homework! It's finally Spring Break! After our trip to the desert we had a fun, restful week off. I took half the week off work so we could do stuff. Tuesday we went with the DLI group to tour the El Tapatio market (in Spanish). It was actually a really great little activity! The manager was very accommodating and showed the kids so much of the store from the tortilla making process and machines, to the refrigerators, trash compactor and meat counter and over into the bakery. They kept it lively for the little kids and had plenty for them to love- they fed them all rice and quesadillas and let them frost and eat cupcakes from the bakery. What kid wouldn't love that? I'm so glad we were able to go. After dropping off Andrew with my parents, I took the girls to lunch at Islands (their request) and then to see the new Cinderella movie. They were so excited because it had the Froz...

Andrew figured out selfies on my phone. Look out.
