Family Friday

We got an unexpected treat today! I had my usual Friday off work and Kevin had jury duty. That's not the treat. We started off the morning with the girls' appt. at the pediatrician for shots(thank you Mom for coming with us!). The girls did very well waiting 35 mins for the Dr. to pop her head in and check Lucy's ears. Both ear infections are completely cleared up so the girls got 2 shots each. They cried briefly and were such troopers. We ran a quick errand and were home for late morning naps. While the girls (and Mommy) were napping, Kevin was released for the day from jury duty! After a quick lunch, we packed up the girls and decided to get out of the house for awhile and run some errands. The girls love riding around in their stroller and as long as they're moving and there are things to look at they're so good. Daddy got a new phone and Mommy got to exchange/return a few things before we were home just in time for afternoon naps. It was a nice start to the week...

Updates

On my to-do list is to upload a few videos of the girls. I'm hoping to get to this during nap time . In the meantime, here are a few quick updates I realize I'd neglected to post. We're done with baby food and have moved entirely to regular table food. Some days are better than others, but overall they are good eaters. Our favorites are peas, green beans, carrots, potatoes and bread. We try to introduce them to new items everyday and are hoping they take to more stuff soon because we're sick of the usual rotation. They are also, as of yesterday, completely on cow's milk. They were down to one session of night nursing, more for my sake than theirs, but now we've eliminated that. Teething and ear infections set Lucy back on the switch from soy to regular milk so she's still 1/2 soy 1/2 regular milk. We're working our way over to completely cow's milk since she no longer has a reaction to it. She seems to have grown out of that, thank goodness. And they...

We Gained an Hour

We love the time change! While most everyone else lost an hour last night, we gained one, sort of. Let me explain. When we had the fall time change we were so excited to "gain" an hour as we had every other year for our lives. With 2 babies, we were surprised when we lost an hour and the babies woke up extra early, depriving us of our time sleeping (as usual). Having wide-awake babies at 5am was definitely not in our plans for that Sunday. So last night we put the girls to bed at the usual time and then went to bed ourselves a bit earlier. The girls slept in until 8:30 and so did we!! This is the most rested I've felt in awhile. Kevin and I couldn't remember the last time we both got to sleep in that long. Of course it screwed up the eating and nap schedule we had down to a science, so we'll have to adjust that this week. After a rough last week with Lucy sick (double ear infections) and Olivia not quite acting up to par this morning, we'll take all the extra...

Friday Faces

In The Last Year

We made it one year without : messing up which baby is which sleeping in catching a full season of any 1 tv show ever visiting the ER spending a night away from the girls buying any formula (Mommy's especially proud of this!) any ear infections, cuts, bumps or bruises (these are sure to come though) We made it one year with : our sanity still in tact (as much as it was pre-babies at least) the help of SO many people a constantly messy house (or is this the new clean?) more laundry, clothes, toys and diapers than we ever imagined a lot less sleep, a lot more silly faces and tons of smiles and laughter 2 minor colds, 1 pink eye and 4 teeth (with more any day now!) 2 healthy, thriving and beautiful little ducks And it's been the best year of our lives. We couldn't be happier!
